About Dr Christine Stacy

Associate Veterinary Surgeon BSc BVMS

Dr Christine Edwards qualified from Murdoch University in 1995 and has been passionate about surgery even as a student where she choose to do surgery as her special topic for her final year of study. She started practicing in a very busy Perth based Small animal practice where she quickly developed her surgical skills to a very high standard.

Dr Chris is a dedicated mother to two human children in addition to two feline fur-children. Becoming a mother has added to the enjoyment in life although it can be tricky at times to successfully balance motherhood with work and the business. She is the fur-parent to Miss Kitty, a cheeky domestic moggy who was brought into one of our Hospitals as a stray kitten. She was only just three weeks old at the time and was badly injured with a large laceration. As is often the case with cats that have been separated from their mothers too early, Miss Kitty shows play aggression with a lack of bite inhibition which Chris’s two human children can attest to.

Dr Chris’s second cat is a beautiful Rag Doll called Frankie who recently had to be re-homed by one of the other vets in the practice. Frankie is a swooning lover who believes he is a great baby sitter for Alex and Sam while they lavish him with lots of attention.

Dr Christine is available to perform our more advanced soft tissue surgeries including total ear canal ablations and perineal hernias and cruciate repairs. Recently she attended two state of the art Orthopaedic Conferences held by the University of Sydney’s Centre for Veterinary Education. She also managed to secure a place to attend some surgery work-shops run by the renowned Dr Wing Tip Wong, one of Australia’s leading Veterinary Surgeons for hip and stifle surgeries. These workshops have only limited delegates and involve an intense level of training.
