About Amy Donovan

Practice Manager & Registered Veterinary Nurse (Currently on Maternity Leave)

Amy began her professional career in human pathology. Although she loved the lab, she quickly realised her passion lies with animals. Amy and her sister started studying vet nursing together in 2016. She was instantly hooked and never looked back. Fast forward to today, Amy is still extremely passionate about laboratory work, and she is so glad to have found a career where she can blend her nerdy love for the lab with her strong passion for cats!
Although Amy has love for all animals, she quickly realised in her first year of being in the industry that feline medicine is where her passion truly lies. She noticed that cats are highly misunderstood in the veterinary industry, and their unique needs are often unable to be met in general practice. As soon as she heard about the opening of the cat hospital, she pounced on the opportunity to join the team in its opening year and feels so blessed to have learnt quality skills from true cat experts in her early years. Amy is now a very confident senior cat nurse and loves her job.
She loves getting hands on in the lab and discovering things she has never seen before. On a different note, she also discovered a passion for emergency medicine. The adrenaline rush that comes from helping a critical patient is unrivalled and there are no words to describe the sense of accomplishment that comes from seeing that patient leave the hospital happy, comfortable and well. It never gets old!
Outside of work you can find Amy boxing, at the beach, or heading down to Yallingup for much needed beach therapy.
Amy is owned by her felines Bailey, her #1 boy and true soul mate, and Tia, her oddball princess.
