Specialist Dermatologist Services at Perth Cat Hospital

We are excited to announce a new partnership with Animal Dermatology Clinic – Perth.  Already operating within Perth, bringing their service to our clinic has many benefits for your cat. Having them come to us saves you a trip to another vet and thus reduces stress on both you and your cat. Cats can still have all the benefits of feline only practice but still see a specialist for their dermatology needs. This partnership ultimately enables our team to maintain and provide a high level of knowledge and care for feline dermatology conditions.

As leaders in the veterinary dermatology community, Animal Dermatology Clinic – Perth strives to provide the most advanced speciality care available. They understand that dermatological problems are often extremely frustrating, requiring a unique combination of vigilant care and the latest technology.  Our common principles combine to bring you and your cat the best speciality care available.

Animal Dermatology Clinics specialize in diagnosing and treating:

  • Chronic and severe skin and ear disease
  • Immune-mediated and hormonal skin disease
  • Nail and nail bed diseases
  • Skin manifestations of internal disease
  • Allergic skin disease

Specialist Dermatology procedures now offered at Perth Cat Hospital include:

  • Consultations with a registered specialist dermatologist
  • Intradermal skin testing – find out exactly what your cat is allergic to
  • Video otoscopy – using a high-end video endoscopy to enable detailed imaging of the ear canal, and allowing polyp and tumour removal, cleaning, myringotomy
  • Desensitisation injections (allergen specific immunotherapy treatment)

Why Do You Need a Specialist?

While we always endeavour to manage cases with our general practitioners, some cases may require the input of a specialist. Having working closely with us helps us maintain our high level of skill and be available to offer you the best for your special cat. Cases that may benefit from intradermal allergy testing and hypo-sensitization therapy will need a specialist to perform and customise this therapy. For complicated ear infections, examination with Video otoscopy may be useful to help diagnose and manage these cases.

Consultation with a specialist enables your cat to receive the best care and outcomes. They are especially invaluable with complicated cases. For many of our patients the team approach to manage multiple diseases or conditions will include specialists. Having Animal Dermatology Clinic – Perth working with us will enable our whole team to provide the care you have come to expect at Perth Cat Hospital.
